8.3. Program Defaults Reference

This chapter lists every factory default in IQcad. Use it as a quick reference when you need to know the out-of-the-box value for any setting, style, or variable. All values are applied when you create a new drawing or choose Reset to Defaults in a settings dialog.

Elevation bands

—

—

Hidden by default. Use the Elevation Bands tab in the Surface Style Editor to generate bands: set count, choose a color ramp (Green→Red, Blue→Red, Grayscale), and click Generate Bands from Surface. This opens a small dialog — a Surface dropdown lists every surface in the drawing (preselected to one already using the style being edited, else the first surface), and Min elevation / Max elevation boxes are pre-filled from that surface’s actual range. Edit either value to an exact figure before generating, or accept the surface’s own range as-is; switching the surface dropdown refills both boxes. GPU rendering provides smooth gradient interpolation between bands.

Elevation band legend

—

—

Hidden by default (ShowLegend=False). Enable per-style in the Surface Style Editor’s Elevation Bands tab.

Built-in presets:

  • Standard — contours + border visible, triangles hidden

  • Triangles & Contours — both triangles and contours visible

  • Contours Only — border hidden

  • Elevation Banding — contours + elevation bands visible (generate bands via style editor)

  • Empty — all components hidden

8.3.10. Civil Object Layer Defaults

When civil object layers are enabled (default: on, prefix C), each civil entity automatically creates dedicated layers for its components. The following table shows all layer name patterns and their default colours. The group, suffix and colour of every component can be changed per drawing in Civil › Civil Settings… › Layers.

Every visual element painted by TAECC_PointCloudSectionSheet — the cell frames, the optional vertical/horizontal axis guides, the section trace polylines, the cell labels and the optional cell fill — defaults to ByLayer in the style entity, so all of them inherit the layer’s colour. Override an individual element’s colour via the PC Section Sheet Style editor when you need to break out of ByLayer (for example, a contrasting trace colour against a coloured frame).

8.3.11. Civil Label Styles

  • DR - Standard — deviation value in centimetres (%.1f cm), placed perpendicular to the measured profile line.

  • DR - Millimeters — deviation value in millimetres (%.0f mm), placed perpendicular to the measured profile line.
