Use the Elevation Bands tab in the Surface Style Editor to generate bands: set count, choose a color ramp (Green→Red, Blue→Red, Grayscale), and click **Generate Bands from Surface**. This opens a small dialog — a **Surface** dropdown lists every surface in the drawing (preselected to one already using the style being edited, else the first surface), and **Min elevation** / **Max elevation** boxes are pre-filled from that surface's actual range. Edit either value to an exact figure before generating, or accept the surface's own range as-is; switching the surface dropdown refills both boxes. The following table shows all layer name patterns and their default colours.
