Accepts closed polylines, circles, ellipses, and rectangles. Prompts for extrusion height (positive = up, negative = down) and whether to close top and bottom with triangulated caps. The source profile is removed after extrusion. Supports pre-selection. Output: TCADPolyfaceMesh (DXF-compatible polyface mesh). * - ``SWEEP`` - ``SW`` - Sweep a closed 2D profile along a path curve to create a 3D polyface mesh. Select a profile, then a path. Valid paths: open polyline, 3D polyline, arc, spline, or civil alignment. Options: pick points and right-click to close (default); ``Polyline`` converts a polyline — the selected one, or it prompts for one — closing it automatically if it is open, and optionally erasing it; ``Frames`` turns every wipeout's outline on or off (the ``WIPEOUTFRAME`` system variable). * - ``-HATCH`` - ``BH`` - Create a hatch from the command line (no dialog). .. index:: single: Modify Modify ~~~~~~ .. index:: single: ERASE (command) single: MOVE (command) single: COPY (command) single: ROTATE (command) single: SCALE (command) single: OFFSET (command) single: MIRROR (command) single: TRIM (command) single: EXTEND (command) single: CHAMFER (command) single: FILLET (command) single: BREAK (command) single: JOIN (command) single: ALIGN (command) single: DIVIDE (command) single: MEASURE (command) single: ARRAY (command) single: PEDIT (command) single: UNDO (command) single: REDO (command) single: COPYCLIP (command) single: CUTCLIP (command) single: PASTECLIP (command) single: PASTEORIG (command) single: DUPLICATE (command) single: SELECTALL (command) .. list-table:: :class: longtable :header-rows: 1 :widths: 22 10 68 * - Command - Alias - Description * - ``ERASE`` - ``E`` - Delete selected objects. If no objects are pre-selected, prompts "Select objects:" — pick objects then right-click to confirm or press Escape to cancel (matches AutoCAD behaviour). * - ``MOVE`` - ``M`` - Move selected objects (base point → destination point). * - ``COPY`` - ``CO`` - Copy selected objects. * - ``ROTATE`` - ``RO`` - Rotate selected objects about a base point. * - ``SCALE`` - ``SC`` - Scale selected objects from a base point. * - ``OFFSET`` - ``O`` - Offset an entity by a distance or through a point. Supports Line, Circle, Arc, XLine, Polyline, Ellipse, Spline, and Rectangle. The default distance is stored in the ``OFFSETDIST`` system variable. Sub-options: **T** = offset through a picked point, **E** = erase the source entity after offsetting, **U** = undo last offset. A phantom preview shows the offset result while picking the side. * - ``MIRROR`` - ``MI`` - Mirror selected objects across a two-point axis. * - ``TRIM`` - ``TR`` - Trim objects to cutting edges. Phase 1: select cutting edges (or type ``ALL``). Phase 2: click the portion to remove. * - ``EXTEND`` - ``EX`` - Extend a line to a boundary edge. Phase 1: select boundary edges. Phase 2: click the end to extend. * - ``CHAMFER`` - ``CHA`` - Chamfer (bevel) two lines. Sub-option ``D`` sets chamfer distances (``$CHAMFERA`` / ``$CHAMFERB``). Zero distance trims to intersection. * - ``FILLET`` - ``F`` - Fillet (round) two lines with an arc. Sub-option ``R`` sets the radius (``$FILLETRAD``). Zero radius trims to intersection. * - ``BREAK`` - ``BR`` - Break an entity between two points. Pick the object (the pick point is the first break point), then "Specify second break point or [First point]:". **F** = re-pick first point, ``@`` = break at a single point with no gap. Lines, arcs and polylines split into two entities (or are shortened at an end); a circle becomes an arc (the portion counter-clockwise from the first to the second point is removed); closed polylines become one open polyline. Single undo step restores everything. * - ``JOIN`` - ``J`` - Join lines, arcs and polylines. Collinear touching lines merge into one line; touching arcs on the same circle merge into one arc; other touching chains merge into a polyline. Arc segments are preserved as true bulge (curved) segments. Reports "N object(s) joined into M." * - ``ALIGN`` - ``AL`` - Align objects using 1–2 source/destination point pairs: first pair translates; second pair adds rotation (Enter after the first pair = move only). Then prompts "Scale objects based on alignment points? [Yes/No] ". Objects picked as destination reference are not affected. * - ``DIVIDE`` - ``DIV`` - Place point entities dividing an entity into N equal segments (2–32767). Open entities get N−1 interior points; closed entities (circles, closed polylines) get N points. Works on Line, Polyline, Arc, Circle, Ellipse, and Spline entities. * - ``MEASURE`` - ``ME`` - Place point entities along an entity at a fixed interval, starting from the end nearest the pick point. The final partial segment remains. Same entity types as ``DIVIDE``. * - ``ARRAY`` - ``ARR`` - Rectangular, polar or path array of the selected objects. Prompts "Enter array type [Rectangular/Polar/PAth] ". Rectangular: rows, columns, row/column spacing (negative spacing allowed). Polar: centre point, item count, angle to fill <360>, rotate items Yes/No. Path: pick a path entity, Divide (count) or Measure (spacing) placement, align items with the path Yes/No. Creates plain copies (alias is ``ARR`` because ``AR`` belongs to ``ARROW``). * - ``PEDIT`` - ``PE`` - Edit a polyline. Select a polyline (or Line/Arc/Circle to convert). Sub-options: **C**\ lose / **O**\ pen, **J**\ oin, **W**\ idth, **E**\ dit vertex (N/P/M/I/D/S sub-mode), **S**\ pline, **D**\ ecurve, **R**\ everse, e\ **X**\ it. Supports both 2D and 3D polylines. * - ``UNDO`` - ``U`` - Undo the last action. * - ``REDO`` - — - Redo the last undone action. * - ``COPYCLIP`` - ``CC`` - Copy the selection to the clipboard, whichever tab (model or a layout) is active. Stamps the clipboard with the source space and drawing scale so a later paste can auto-scale. * - ``CUTCLIP`` - ``CX`` - Cut the selection to the clipboard, whichever tab (model or a layout) is active. Stamps the clipboard with the source space and drawing scale so a later paste can auto-scale. * - ``PASTECLIP`` - ``CV`` - Paste entities from the clipboard onto whichever tab is active. A ghost of the entities follows the cursor; click (or type ``x,y``) to place them, Esc, a right-click, or pressing Enter on an empty command line cancels. Pasting between model and a layout auto-scales by the drawing scale, so text and tables land at the size they plot at; viewports are never carried across the clipboard (copying leaves them out). Legacy clipboards without scale metadata paste unscaled. * - ``PASTEORIG`` - — - Paste entities from the clipboard at their original coordinates, onto whichever tab is active. Same auto-scaling as ``PASTECLIP``, but non-interactive. * - ``DUPLICATE`` - ``DU`` - Duplicate the selected entities in place. * - ``SELECTALL`` - ``SA`` - Select every entity on the active tab. .. index:: single: Super Tools Super Tools ~~~~~~~~~~~ Express/CadTools-style helpers. If survey points exist in the drawing they are triangulated automatically; otherwise an empty surface definition is created so point groups and boundaries can be attached later. * - ``IMPORTDEM`` - ``IDEM`` - Import a GeoTIFF DEM (``.tif``) as a grid-backed surface. Decodes the raster natively — uncompressed, Deflate or LZW; single-band Float32 or Int16; strips or tiles — and georeferences it from the GeoTIFF tags (model tiepoint, pixel scale, CRS); no world file or external conversion is required. Elevations are answered by bilinear interpolation on the grid (no triangulation), so the DEM can be sampled by section sheets exactly like a TIN. NoData, voids and non-finite cells return no elevation (honest gaps, never fabricated ground). The CRS is reported but not reprojected — the DEM must already share the drawing's coordinate system. The surface is persisted in the drawing and re-decoded from its source file on reopen (a warning is shown if the file has moved). * - ``CLOUDSURFACE`` - ``CLS`` - Build a grid surface from a loaded point cloud, for comparison against a DEM or design surface. Bins the cloud's ground points (LAS class 2) into a regular grid, keeping the lowest Z per cell (bare earth); if the cloud has no ground classification it falls back to all points and suggests running ``PCGROUND`` first. Cell size defaults to about twice the average point spacing; empty cells stay void (no fabricated ground from stray returns). Produces a surface named ``Cloud_`` that can be sampled in a section sheet alongside the DEM, with cut/fill reported between the two — the intended way to validate a DEM against survey data. * - ``DEMTOTIN`` - ``D2T`` - Resample a DEM surface into a **new** editable TIN surface, leaving the DEM intact. Pick the DEM, choose a region (whole DEM, a rectangle, or an existing closed polyline), a cell size, and an optional decimation tolerance. The DEM is sampled (bilinear) onto a regular grid tightened to the region — so a small high-detail region does not hit the whole-DEM cell cap — and triangulated; voids and out-of-region cells become gaps. The result is a normal ``TAECC_SURFACE`` named ``_TIN`` (source type *Derived*) that can be edited, used in corridors, or contoured like any TIN. (Full-resolution DEMs are far too large to triangulate directly, so a sensible cell size is required.) * - ``ADDSURFACEPOINTS`` - ``ASP`` - Add all survey points to a named surface and build (or rebuild) the TIN. * - ``ADDSURFACEENTITIES`` - ``ASE`` - Add selected drawing objects to a surface. Supported entity types: 3DFace (loaded as TIN triangles directly), Line, Polyline, Spline, Point, and Survey Point (vertices triangulated). If only one surface exists it is used automatically; otherwise prompts for the surface name. * - ``REBUILDSURFACE`` - ``RS`` - Rebuild an existing surface TIN from the current survey points. * - ``ADDSURFACEBOUNDARY`` - ``ASB`` - Add a boundary polyline to a surface (outer or hole). * - ``DECIMATESURFACE`` - ``DS`` - Decimate (simplify) a TIN surface. Prompts for the surface name (auto-selects if only one exists) and a max elevation tolerance. Two algorithms are selected automatically: **grid-based O(n)** for surfaces > 100K points (single-pass min/max Z per cell, capped at 50K output points, < 5 sec for 4M points); **greedy insertion** for ≤ 100K points (convex hull seed, binary max-heap, batched refinement). * - ``DELETESURFACE`` - — - Delete a surface by name. * - ``SURFACEPROPERTIES`` - — - Display surface statistics (points, triangles, area, elevation range) and the surface's **source type** (Survey Points / Point Cloud / DEM / LandXML / Merged / Derived). The source type is also shown next to each surface in the Civil Toolspace tree. * - ``EXPLODECONTOURS`` - ``EXC`` - Extract a surface's contour lines into editable polyline entities, placed on ``-Contour-Major`` / ``-Minor`` layers at each contour elevation (DXF-exportable). Works for any surface with contours — including grid-backed DEM surfaces, whose contours are generated by marching squares directly on the elevation grid (no triangulation). If the surface style has no contour intervals set, the command reports that rather than producing nothing. * - ``SURFDIFF`` - — - Compare two TIN surfaces to build a **difference (diff) surface** whose elevation is the vertical deviation ``dz`` between them. Opens the **Compare Surfaces** dialog (sources, cell size, tolerance, max deviation, sign convention, insert/stats options) with a live overlap/cell-count preview. The result is a deviation-banded surface ``DIFF_-vs-``, saved with its comparison provenance so a volume report works later without the sources. Basis for earthwork QC. * - ``PCDIFF`` - — - As ``SURFDIFF`` but compares a surface against a loaded point cloud (as-built). Adds a **PC reducer** choice (Median / Minimum / Mean) for collapsing multiple returns per cell to one ground value. * - ``VOLUMEREPORT`` - ``VOLREPORT`` - Earthwork **volume report** for a comparison (diff) surface: cut, fill and net volumes, cut/fill/total areas, deviation statistics, and a per-band breakdown, integrated directly from the diff TIN. Uses the selected diff surface, or prompts when several exist. Opens as an HTML report in the system browser. * - ``MERGESURFACES`` - ``MS`` - Merge two surfaces (paste or union) into a new or replaced surface. * - ``SURFACESTYLE`` - ``SUS`` - Edit surface styles. * - ``SURFBUILDSETTINGS`` - ``SBS`` - Edit per-surface build settings (triangulation algorithm and cleanup filters). * - ``SLOPEPATH`` - ``SLP`` - Trace a maximum-slope gradient line along a sketched polyline. Select a 2D/3D polyline (or pre-select it); its vertices become waypoints and the command chains a gradient path through them across the surface, never exceeding the given maximum slope (%). Draws one 3D polyline draped on the terrain (collinear runs merged), keeps the sketch, and reports lengths, climb/descent, per-leg status and a per-vertex slope list. * - ``FACE2SURFACE`` - ``F2S`` - Convert selected 3D faces into a surface. * - ``ADDDXFFACES`` - ``ADF`` - Add 3DFACE entities imported from DXF to a surface. When the DXF carries 3DFACEs on several layers (typically one exported surface per layer), a dialog asks which layer(s) to import — either merged into the target surface, or, with **Create a separate surface per selected layer** checked, one new surface per layer named after it. Single-layer files import directly, no dialog. * - ``ELEVTRACK`` - — - Toggle the surface **Elevation Tracker** overlay — a live Z readout of every visible surface under the cursor.
